This genus is endemic to the South Africa, making it the perfect plant for any garden.

Arctotis requires full sun and is fast-growing up to 30cm in height;
The plant thrives in sandy soil but performs well in almost any soil, is resistant to salt-laden wind and is waterwise;
Prune the trailing varieties back hard, directly after flowering, to encourage the formation of new shoots. Alternatively, they can be treated as annuals and propagated from seed sown in autumn.
